Andrew LeBlanc: Executive Director

Andrew has worked with children and youth for the past 15 years in a variety of capacities. Most recently, he served as the Program Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Riverview overseeing all program operations. Andrew has experience working on regional and national projects as well as building community partnerships. He serves on the Board for the Riverview Arts Centre and Neighbourhood Watch. He has also facilitated youth councils with the both the Town of Riverview and United Way and has sat on the Riverview Crime Prevention Committee.

Danielle Whalen: Clinical Supervisor & Counselling Therapist

Danielle Whalen graduated from the Counselling Psychology Graduate program through City University in 2005. She is a Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).  She has 15 years of professional experience working with children, youth, and families in various capacities within their homes, schools, and community settings. Danielle has been working as a Clinical Therapist with AWCC from inception in April 2013.

Meredith Martell: Service Navigator & Parent Coach

Meredith has been working with youth with various diagnoses and difficulties for the last 11 years. During this time, she specialized in developing behavior plans for families, guardians, schools, and other community stakeholders. She also specialized in academic learning plans, social skills, communication skills, as well as developing collaboration between parents and other team members.

Julie Asiron: Funds Developer 

Julie Asiron graduated from Dalhousie University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. She was a board member of the Unicorn Children’s Center for 3 years and volunteered for the Curryville Community Center for 2 years. Julie has been a part of the AWCC from the beginning, first as a board member and volunteer grant writer, and now as an employee.

Jessica Taplin: Counselling Therapist

Jessica graduated in 2017 with a Masters degree in Counselling from the University of New Brunswick. Prior to completion of her Masters degree, she worked within the school system for over 5 years. She is a Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and has experience working with youth in a variety of different educational and counselling backgrounds.

Taylor Gaunce: Counselling Therapist

Taylor graduated from Yorkville University in January 2018 with a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She completed her internship with us at the Atlantic Wellness Community Center. Before that, she worked with women in transitional housing due to domestic violence or housing crises as well as with middle school-aged girls promoting empowerment and teaching them about healthy relationships. She is a Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)

Ashley Doughty: Counselling Therapist

Ashley graduated from the Masters of Counselling Psychology program through Athabasca University in July of 2017. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She comes to us from the Counselling department at the University of New Brunswick Saint John campus where she was an intern for 8 months. In this department she counselled primarily students aged 18+. She has been building her experience with youth ages 12-21 at Atlantic Wellness Community Center since October of 2017.

Kelli Etheridge: Counselling Therapist

Kelli Etheridge is a Licensed Counselling Therapist (LCP) in New Brunswick
and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Kelli has over 20 years of
experience working with families one-on- one, as well as facilitating a variety
of parenting/wellness programs within the community. She joined the team
at the Atlantic Wellness Community Center as a Counselling Therapist in
June, 2017.
